About.

Dean Muscat’s love affair with
music began early.

As a boy, he’d spend hours with his Walkman cassettes and the family vinyl collection, soaking up everything from rock ’n’ roll and Motown to folk, classic rock, and bubblegum pop.

At twelve, a guitar landed in his hands and soon he was writing songs of his own.

Years of songwriting and producing followed, working with artists in both the UK and Malta, until disillusionment with the industry saw him step away entirely.

It wasn’t until becoming a father that he felt the pull to return, not for charts or trends, but to finally give his own songs a voice.

In 2024 came Heart of the Med, a love letter and lament to his island home, followed in 2025 by his debut EP LAZARENE. Rooted in Americana and folk, the record reflects on place, identity, and personal reckoning, with subtle threads of Greek mythology woven through intimate, lyric-driven songs.

With LAZARENE now out in the world, Dean has gathered a band—Dean Muscat & The Lazarenes—ready to bring these songs to life on stages across Malta and beyond.
